Pioneer Day 2012

Pioneer Day, June 24th, is a day set apart to remember the day the Mormon pioneers first entered the Salt Lake Valley, led by Brigham Young. Olivia and I were lucky enough to be in Utah to enjoy all the festivities! We began with the parade in Spanish Fork (with my cousin Katie and her boys), had a family barbecue at the park in Provo (with the Ericksons, Brian, my Mom, Lisa, and Grammy & Grandpa), and ended with a spectacular fireworks show in Mapleton (with Uncle Tom, Jenny and Bryce, Brian, Matthew, Lisa, my Mom and our friend Danny). The Spanish Fork had real floats - and we had a blast yelling for all the royalty to "Show us your shoes!" Mark brought his fire pit, and we roasted hot dogs at the park near Grammy and Grandpa's. We played a couple rounds of Bocce, visited, and all took turns pushing Livi on the swings. Even Maple came out to celebrate with us! What a great day! Thanks to everyone that made it possible.

The parade crew! Justin was so  happy to be here!

Cody and Olivia were just too cute enjoying their suckers together.

Grandma came and joined us! Olivia was thrilled to see her, but we couldn't get her to smile once I pulled out the camera.
Katie and Justin enjoying some otter pops!
Me and my girl watching the parade on the curb.
Livi and Lala watching the clowns. Olivia wanted them to keep coming back!
Here are some real clowns!
Mom and I chased down the Pepsi float for Pepsi!
Olivia sat in the beach chair and practiced her parade wave. She was quite good at it too!
Later at our family barbecue, we enjoyed a competitive game of Bocce. Notice the disadvantage I had playing against 3 big burly men?!
Round 2 of Bocce.
Brian and Matthew.
Auntie Channy played and played with Livi on the playground, the swings, and the grass.
Isn't this precious?!

Cute cute Debbie.

We love us some Creamies! Silly Uncle Tom and Olivia.
It's a DOUBLE RAINBOW!
Isn't my grandmother beautiful?! Even just having knee surgery, she was out and about with us!
It's a bird! It's a plane! It's....yeah, it's a plane.
Hugs from Livi.
I love this girl!!! So happy she's only in Utah...not on a mission in Florida!
Lala was showing Livi the rainbows in the sky!
Another hand wipe?! Really Lala?! :)
Olivia took this picture of us! I cropped it so we were centered - but holy cow, what a photographer!3
Livi was tired of watching everyone play without her - she decided to play some Bocce all on her own!
Awww....

Hanging with her grandmothers!
Olivia is obsessed with Maple. She even learned how to say his name!
Wow Uncle Matt! You swing so high!
Swingin' with Lala.
And more swings...
...and more swings!
During our game, Uncle Tom and either Matt or Brian were exactly the same distance from the white  ball!
Me and one of my favorite uncles!
...and more swings!
I loved sharing the day with my Mom - she is such an amazing lady, and one of my best friends.
