22 November 2012 ~ Thanksgiving at Lala and Papa's
We were blessed to be able to spend Thanksgiving at my parents this year. I loved cooking the meal with Mom, it's been years since we've been able to do that. I have so much to learn from her! Even with her recipes, my stuffing never turns out just like hers. The meal was absolutely delicious! We had our traditional favorites: turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes and gravy, and yams - plus a few new recipes: roasted asparagus with parmesan cheese (our veggie of choice this year) and a new
30 minute roll recipe that was super yummy with honey butter. We even used Mom's bronze flatware, which was stunning. Although we didn't plan it, Olivia ended up taking her nap during dinner time! It was quite nice to enjoy our meal and have Livi join us for the end of dinner and pie time! We had 6 pies this year: 4 pumpkin, 1 cherry, and 1 banana creme from Ann Harker. With so much delicious food to digest, we all took afternoon naps. We loved talking with family since we couldn't all be together. Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
