City Creek Center in SLC

Before heading to the Salt Lake Airport to fly home to California, we stopped at the City Creek Center  . Amazing. It is beautiful! It has the outdoor feel of the Gateway (SLC) or the 3rd Street Promenade (Santa Monica), the cleanliness of BYU, and best of all: a creek! The shopping is fantastic, the food court and restaurants represent a wide variety of food (Mom and I had an awesome Mexican special with Horchata, Livi had McDonalds, and Grandpa had a gyro), and the artistic details and landscaping are exquisite!

My three favorite moments:

1. Olivia's face when the Disney store employee brought out the Dumbo stuffed animal at Lala's request. She just beamed from ear to ear.

Took us forever to figure out how to use the Magic Mirror. Supposedly Stitch  messed with it, we had to wait for an employee to fix it!

2. Olivia discovering there were fish in the pond! She sat with me on one side, then had to cross the bridge with Lala so she could watch them from the other side.

We were growling at Lala.

3. Walking across the Skyway and watching Olivia watch the train (Trax) come and go. She kept waving to not only the train but the cars and people as well!

Grandpa was such a great sport, putting up with the shopping and photo taking. :) I can't wait to go back with my Mom and sisters to spend the whole day!

Leaving the City Creek parking structure was almost impossible. Mom and Grandpa couldn't get the machine to work, and after 10 minutes at the machine, Grandpa opted to just pay on the way out. Problem was, he wanted to pay with cash and the guy in front of us was paying in small change. LOTS of small change. When we finally got up to pay - our parking ticket didn't work! We called for assistance - and thankfully, rather than have us wait forever for someone to show up, they just let us through. Afterall, we did have flights to catch! Although, ironically - both of our flights were delayed; we didn't find out until we got to our gates - after surviving an awful security checkpoint run (Mom forgot she had a pocket knife in her purse, only to find out after 6 more scans that she also had 2 more!)
