In my efforts to get out of the apartment, I've made a list of kid-friendly parks to visit around the area. Douglas Park had some of the highest reviews, and when I read that they had a duck pond, I was immediately sold. Olivia and I drove over one morning and had such a fun time that we went back with Aaron just a few days later. Sure - the signs say "please do not feed the ducks" - but let's just say the ducks were acting hungry and we were happy to oblige them. :) The park itself has a few little duck ponds (and even a resident turtle!), a cement area for bikes/skateboards/scooters, grass areas for playing ball, a huge playground, and several benches and tables in the shade. It has been busy both times we've gone - but it's large enough that it doesn't feel crowded. We love it!
Note to self: It's way to tricky to try recording a video with your phone while holding onto your daughter to keep her from going swimming with the ducks.
Daddy's little girl for sure. She loved watching the ducks with him.
Livi wasn't a huge fan of the slide, but she did play on this swing for quite some time. This video was taken at the end of her swing time. It was cute to watch her on the playground, she just watched the other kids play and wouldn't engage much with them. One little girl kept asking if it was "okay for the baby to play". Thankfully we'll have park days to acclimate Livi more to the busy playground feel.
