My 29th Birthday at the Beach

1 September, 2012
Kristen Turns 29!
I opted for eating my birthday cheesecake for breakfast! Funny story: Livi went to help Lala light the candles but got spooked by them instead! She came running to me crying and didn't stop until all the candles had been blown out! Crazy girl.
I can't think of a better way to spend my birthday than at the beach! After a glorious morning of sleeping in and eating my birthday cheesecake (from Strings Italian Restaurant in Livermore) for breakfast, we suited up for an afternoon at the coast. We went out to Will Rogers State Beach - and other than it being a little breezier than we would have liked (and having that darn high surf advisory that was actually necessary - the waves were pretty big), it was a perfect afternoon! We all played in the waves and the water, dug for sand crabs, played in the sand, and enjoyed the sun. Here's a look at our afternoon...

"Papa! Water! Let's go!"
It took me three tries to take this picture...don't you just love how my sun hat went all sailor on me?
Me and my sweet pea sitting in the waves! Our bottoms were absolutely FULL of sand by the end of this oh so fun game!

Digging for sand crabs! Jordan and I were pretty proud of our 2 large ones, but upon bringing back my last one, Dad informed us Livi had already dumped the others out!
Lala and Livi played with our surviving sand crab! Livi was so brave.
Talk about love in a photo.
Livi loves to have her legs buried in the sand...which soon led to...
...a full body bury! She was one stylin sand girl!
Then it was Lala's turn! Let's just say that it took a long time. What could we expect when she buried her one little handful at a time?!
And let's not forget that every now and then she would deposit little handfuls down Lala's back. Not quite sure why...

Papa was definitely Livi's favorite person to take down to the water!
Except this last time, Olivia looked back to find Lala still sitting on the sand! She ran back for her...
She was one happy girl to have both Lala and Papa in the waves with her.
Lala, Mommy and Livi couldn't resist buying Blue Bunny ice cream sandwiches from the beach vendor. Livi's was the only one ready to eat - the other two were frozen solid!
Airplane!

Livi just loved swingin

Jordan was stylin' in my hat!
I didn't realize everyone was trying to make Livi smile! :)

Olivia was done at this point. No more photos!
We ended my birthday with fish tacos at Rubios - delicious! I was very blessed to receive some amazing gifts from my family. Here's to my last year in my 20's! (Well, officially at least).
