Faces

Last night, Aaron and I had a 3D ultrasound of our baby girl. Because we are 33 weeks along, we weren't what we'd be able to see, she is rather squished in there; however, right away the doctor found her little face. It was amazing. We could see her little eyes, nose, chubby cheeks, and lips. We didn't see any hair on her little head, so we're anxious to see is she takes after us or her Aunt Lisa! She is absolutely precious. She kept her arm and hand pressed against one side of her face, but towards the end we got an even better view of her - and what did we see? Our baby girl was pulling faces! She puckered her lips, stuck out her tongue, scrunched her eyebrows, opened and closed her eyes, stuck out a pouty bottom lip, and gave us all the "black look" as if to say, "Stop poking at me with that thing!" We just had to laugh - I am the queen of black looks and pouty lips - so maybe she'll be a mama's girl afterall. I loved watching Aaron look at his little girl on the screen. He lights up and is completely taken with her. Moments like that are evidence that he will make an amazing dad - already she has stolen his heart and he adores her. I know that we have much ahead of us - all unexpected - but we have each other and soon a little family of our own to hold on to.
